About Us
The Newton Medical Reserve Corps was formed in 2005. The unit is housed in the city's Health and Human Services Department, and its mission is to support the work of the department. The Newton MRC includes approximately 260 people from a variety of medical and non-medical backgrounds. The most significant volunteer opportunity is the department's substantial flu vaccination program where volunteers typically contribute 200 hours of service to assist HHS staff in vaccinating more than 6,000 Newton residents, students and employees.
