Pet First Aid – October 9th, 2019

On October 9th, members of the Region 4b MRC participated in Pet First Aid Training with Amy Newfield, CVT, VTS (ECC)! Amy has over fifteen years of experience as a Board Certified Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. She currently sits on the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians Council of Regents as the President-Elect.

During this training, Amy and her four-legged assistants trained Region 4b MRC volunteers in the following:

• Recognition of signs of illness and emergency

• Normal physical exam parameters

• How to transport an injured pet

• Appropriate techniques for bandaging wounds

• CPR

• Common diseases in pets
