Why should I volunteer with the MRC?
Volunteering for the MRC not only gives you the great satisfaction of helping others, but it also provides you with many unique training opportunities. Many of the training opportunities we provide offer CEUs for medical professionals. Signing up for the Metro East MRC ensures you are vetted, accepted, and eligible to respond to potential emergencies.
What do I do as a volunteer?
As a Metro East MRC volunteer, you have the opportunity to take part in numerous trainings on unique topics. Additionally, the Metro East MRC is utilized in many capacities, including flu clinics, warming/cooling centers, town events, parades, emergency shelters, emergency preparedness drills, emergency distribution sites, and more! Your specific role in each event will depend on your background, interests, skills, and the needs of the community.
Do I need to be a medical professional to volunteer with the MRC?
No! Non-medical volunteers are essential in an emergency, and you do not need to be a medical professional to volunteer with the MRC.
